OUR VISION
Creating disciples and living the stewardship way of life.
OUR PURPOSE
To embrace our evangelizing zeal and rich traditions in order to nurture and inspire others to passionately live out their Catholic faith.
SCHOOL MISSION
Rooted in the love of God, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School community seeks the truth of Jesus Christ by cultivating a life-long environment of excellence in education, faith-formation, and service to God and neighbor.
PHILOSOPHY
The Catholic Church offers to every member the benefits of Mass and the Sacraments, numerous opportunities for private devotion, prayer groups, public liturgy and a variety of parish ministries such as sacramental preparation, faith formation, and service to those who are sick or are in need.
Because of the combined stewardship of all the parishes, many more services are made available through the Diocese to all, among them: The Spiritual Life Center, Catholic Charities, The Catholic Advance, youth ministry, the marriage tribunal, Marriage and Engaged Encounter, Guadalupe Clinic, the Lord’s Diner, Newman Centers, the education of seminarians, support for the initiatives of our Holy Father, our Bishop, and a Catholic school education.
EXPECTATIONS
Discipleship calls us to more than membership; it calls us to an active stewardship. To support all these ministries, we need every family’s active stewardship in this parish. What does stewardship ask of parish members?
- Make a commitment to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
-
Participate at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days, ideally in your parish.
-
Practice your faith in the workplace, the home, the classroom, and in the world.
-
Support and cooperate with the religious education programs of the parish: adult faith formation, Catholic school, PSR, sacramental preparation, OCIA, etc.
-
Participate in parish ministries, activities, and organizations through your contribution of time and talent.
-
Support the ministries of the Catholic Church by pledging and tithing sacrificially to the parish (8% of family income to the parish and 2% to other charities of your choice).
Parents are asked to be stewards through example and actions. By enrolling in our Catholic school the parent is asking the parish to assist in nurturing their faith as they strive to form their children as disciples. Parents are expected to cooperate with the parish and its ministries. A child’s enrollment in a Catholic school is contingent upon each family practicing their Catholic faith.
